Transparent Pricing – Keep More of
Your Working Capital
As a multi-business owner myself, I hate wasting money on processors. That's why Nexus uses interchange-plus pricing – the most transparent and usually the lowest-cost model for growing businesses like yours in Southern Utah and beyond.
Flat Rate vs Interchange-Plus – Which Saves You More?
| Feature | Flat Rate (Square, Stripe, etc.) |
Interchange-Plus (Nexus Favorite) |
|---|---|---|
| How pricing works | One fixed rate (e.g. 2.9% + 30¢) | Interchange (Visa/MC base) + small fixed markup |
| Transparency | Low – fees bundled & hidden | High – you see every fee clearly |
| Best for | Very small volume or startups | Most small/medium businesses (especially growing) |
| Typical savings | Predictable but often higher | 20–50% lower as volume increases |
| Monthly / hidden fees | Usually none (but watch for PCI, etc.) | Low or none – we keep it simple |
Our Interchange-Plus Pricing – My Personal Favorite
Interchange is the base fee Visa & Mastercard charge the bank (usually 1.5–2.5%). We simply add a small, fixed markup for our service. No percentage games, no hidden monthly fees, no long-term contracts. This model keeps more working capital in your pocket – exactly what I want for my own businesses.
Example rates (estimates – actual interchange varies):
• In-person (swiped/tapped): ~1.95–2.10% + 8¢
• Online or keyed-in: ~2.20–2.70% + 10¢
• Debit (PIN): ~0.35–1.10% + 8¢
We don't hide fees. You see every line item on your statement.
